Sources
Assembly and Lok Sabha results come from the Election Commission of India's statistical reports — the “Detailed Results” for every candidate, and the “Constituency Data Summary” for electors, votes polled, turnout, valid votes and NOTA. Where a report exists only as a PDF (Andhra Pradesh 2014, Telangana 2018), the text is extracted and 20 constituencies per election are spot-checked against the printed lines. By-elections come from ECI's bye-election index cards. Current members come from the official Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha websites.
Checks
Every published file passes an automated audit: the expected number of constituencies (175, 119, 25, 17); one winner per constituency with the most votes; margin equal to the winner's votes minus the runner-up's; candidates' votes equal to ECI's valid votes; vote shares and NOTA adding to 100%; turnout equal to votes polled divided by electors; and seat totals and party votes matching ECI's own party tables. Where two ECI tables disagree by a few votes, the difference is recorded rather than smoothed over.
Vote shares
Vote shares are calculated over all votes for candidates plus NOTA — the same basis as ECI's candidate-level percentages. ECI's “valid votes” exclude NOTA.
The 2014 elections
The 2014 Assembly and Lok Sabha elections were held before Andhra Pradesh was bifurcated on 2 June 2014. ECI reports them under undivided Andhra Pradesh (294 Assembly and 42 Lok Sabha constituencies). Each constituency is assigned to today's Andhra Pradesh or Telangana only if its name matches the official list for that state; Lok Sabha seats are also confirmed by their Assembly segments.
Names and spellings
Older reports sometimes spell a constituency differently. A spelling is accepted only if it matches the official list after normalising case and punctuation, or appears in a short reviewed list of variants, each with its reason. Candidate names are shown as ECI prints them, in title case. Telugu names will be shown only once they are available from an official Telugu-language source; they are never machine-translated.
Not shown
Districts are not shown until current official district lists are added. Candidates' declared assets, criminal cases and education are not yet shown; each candidate links to the ECI affidavit portal. Criminal cases, when shown, are cases declared in affidavits, not convictions. Party alliances are not grouped unless an officially documented alliance list is recorded for that election.
Maps
Constituency boundaries come from the Data{Meet} Community Maps Project. They are indicative and not survey-grade.
